Gavin John is an author and photographer whose practice focuses on extreme landscapes, travel, documentary and historical subject matter.
His landscape photography juxtaposes the epic with the intimate by playing with perceptions of scale, isolating distinctive features, and concentrating on colours, geometry and textures to create abstract works of art.
His work is displayed in many corporate offices and his photography movies are regularly screened on the Digital Façade and other large screens at Federation Square, and on the big screen at Bunjil Place.
Gavin releases a calendar of landscape photography each year and his work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Australia and abroad. He has authored and contributed to multiple books and journals.
