Woodslane Press is an Australian-owned book publisher, founded in 1994, based on Sydney’s northern beaches. It was created when its sister company Woodslane acquired Business Plus Publishing (BPP) and its list of business titles. Its original focus was on developing Australian business and technology content to complement the primarily US content that Woodslane was primarily distributing. Early into the new millennium, BPP sold the bulk of its business list to Allen & Unwin, relaunched itself as Woodslane Press and in 2007 published the first in its now extremely popular series of walking guides.
The company soon took over the publishing of Boiling Billy Publications, well known for their state-based camping guides. New books have been published under both imprints ever since and they have been joined by two other popular book brands: Where to Ride in 2017 and Australia Free in 2019. As well as now being firmly established as one of the country’s leading publishers of outdoor guides, Woodslane Press has always published non-fiction titles in other genres and will continue to produce a wide range of content that inspires people to explore and engage in Australia.
